Tonight, instead of coffee I decided to drink Gineng Green tea, due mainly that I was kept up all night last night with the coffee, and I want some sleep. There’s no information really on the tea, not like the coffee, but as the name suggests it is green tea with ginseng.
The first thing I must point out is that when you measure out some of this, you must keep in mind that the hot water will make it expand inside whatever you use to make it brew. Also, it doesn’t turn out so green but slightly brown. There is the hint of green tea, but it’s mixed with something else. Since I’ve never tasted Ginseng in a tea before I couldn’t say one hundred percent, but there’s a bitterness in the tea that I’ve never tasted in green before.
Sugar doesn’t hide the overall green tea flavor, but enhances it. If you’ve never had green tea before, you will note that it isn’t a strong tea. It is not completely without caffeine, but has less in it than your Oolong or Earl Grey. I actually have a preference for green tea, being that it is said to have antioxidants which is always a welcome thing in my book. Ginseng I’ve only ever taken in pill form, but the idea of having ginseng in my green tea was one that I couldn’t pass up.
