Two Months of Writing Prompts: Day Fourteen

I’m feeling jittery so I’m going to try to make this quick and do another one before moving on.

Today’s prompt is: Write a brief biography of an old inventor who is shipwrecked.

The old hermit inventor, Studds McDuffy was a strange one.  He was an inventor of coconut based mechanics like the cocoafone, which played coconut fiber discs.  The music was horrible, but we encouraged him anyway.  Even when he made the highly flammable cococart that ran on coconut oil, we applauded him for his ingenuity.  The fuel gauge didn’t work, and when you started it up, there was a chance your coconut fiber seat would ignite.  The cocosmooties failed as well, since they were made entirely out of coco milk and coconut shavings.

We all thought the phase would pass.  I mean, how many coconut trees can you find in Alaska?  However, last year, we saw him leaving on a yacht made of coconut tree wood, in search of more viable trees and coconuts.  No one heard from him for months.  We searched, and finally found him happily stranded on a deserted island off the coast of Hawaii.  It is believed he intends to live out the rest of his life there, creating his themed inventions.

About Cici Brown
I'm a happily married mother of two and a half. I'm usually pretty bubbly and in some cases, according to my husband, too open about everything. I am and always will be a gamer geek, though I haven't table-top roleplayed for many years. I still manage to hit an MMO or two. My interests include most things geek and Vampire fiction, though not the sparkly kind, that's not vampire fiction. I have goals towards publishing that have yet to be fulfilled but one day...
