Once More With Feeling Writing Prompts: Day 11

I just watched charcoal face mask gone wrong and it is the funniest sh-stuff ever!

Okay, so I was sitting at my best friend Lisa’s house, who has admitted to me that she does not read my blog. Lucky her I started dictating this with that talk to text so she gets to hear some of it first-hand! Isn’t that just spiffy?

I just realized among all of the excitement of the day which was including but not limited to the breakage of someone’s phone (I will not name names) I have realized that I have not posted yet. And of course my day was getting away with me!  Technically I haven’t slept yet, so I’ll consider this posting when it’s supposed to. Just be advised that I’m on my phone so my formatting is going to be crap.  Also since I’m in a car and the power is off, it’s going to be super quick! Also, since the next few days are going to be devoted to celebrating my anniversary with my husband, I am going to postpone prompts for the next week.  I’m debating on whether to add to the end of the list of prompts as a sort of penalty.  What do you think?

Any way I look at it, I’m penalizing myself and taking this lapse seriously.  So let’s get started,  shall we?

Today’s prompt is: Finish this sentence: “I’d love to _____ but my _____ just _____!” (And then write a story that follows it.)

I’d love to sleep but my brain just won’t quit! I’ve tried everything to relax and empty it of all thought, but wouldn’t you know,  that’s just the time it decides to start working overtime!
Counting sheep doesn’t help. They just pile up onto impossible piles of wool. Who ever thought of that anyway? Did it work for them? Does it work for anyone? I mean, I’d really like to know.

Well here I am now,  contemplating the validity of counting sheep, and I seem no closer to getting to that blissful state it is supposed to get me to.

Brilliant!

About Cici Brown
I'm a happily married mother of two and a half. I'm usually pretty bubbly and in some cases, according to my husband, too open about everything. I am and always will be a gamer geek, though I haven't table-top roleplayed for many years. I still manage to hit an MMO or two. My interests include most things geek and Vampire fiction, though not the sparkly kind, that's not vampire fiction. I have goals towards publishing that have yet to be fulfilled but one day...
