Once More With Feeling Writing Prompts: Day 6

I’ll start this post by wishing my older sister a happy birthday.  We may not talk, but she’s still my sister.  Funny how one decides to not talk to me, and the other comes back into my life.  Also, interestingly enough, today’s prompt is more of a thoughtful post as well, and will be more journal like. Instead of dwelling on the bullheadedness of the people I’m related to, I’m going to focus on today’s prompt which asks the question: Who do you want to be when you are 40? (Or 50 or 60, etc. if you are already 40) Read more of this post

Once More With Feeling Writing Prompts: Day 3

So…I was in one of the beauty supply stores the other day, and what would I see but a gold chrome nail kit.  I…um also got myself a snazy new LED light (I swear to God this is a need and not a want, even if it makes me squee that I got it for half the price I was willing to pay, and it came with glitter…what???) and ordered a new brand of structure gel that cures in an LED (again, I need new structure gel and I figured I might as well go with the brand that I’ve heard nothing but good things about…so what if I geek out about it…) BUT I did not buy the chrome kit, nor did I get any of the color-changing gel polishes when I got the new structure gel…but I really wanted to!  I reminded myself that the chrome and the polishes were not Needs, they were Wants, and if I buy them now, I’ll be rewarding myself for nothing, since I’ve only been able to finish 2 days of writing prompts.

Yes, I realize I’m doing this one pretty late in the day.  It’s still Tuesday though! I got this!  Okay, so for those that don’t know what I’m talking about, I decided to do 30 days of writing prompts because I haven’t been successful in completing a single one of these challenges that I’ve set for myself for one reason or another, and I’m bound and determined to do it this time!  Last post I mentioned treating myself to something new and spiffy if I finish this challenge I’ve set for myself and I’m trying to stick to it! You can find the list HERE if you want to join in.  Today’s writing prompt is: What does Sunday feel like? Write a poem or paragraph (or whatever) that explains your opinion of and emotions felt for the seven separate days of the week. Are we ready boys and girls?  Let’s get started, shall we? It’s A Sabotage

Haven’t posted in a bit.  Haven’t written in a bit.  I just can’t seem to get anything out when the opportunity presents itself.  It’s more than just that.  There’s actually a whole slew of reasons why my writing and bloging has gone on the wayside, and most are all my fault.  Procrastination is the name of the game, and being unproductive is the rule.  Slacker Cici has been in full tilt the past few months, but I swear, it hasn’t all been looking at memes and Facebook, though most of it has been my fault…all my fault! Belated for Valentine’s Day

I wanted to post a very special picture from a comic I follow.  I’d post a link but it is an adult web comic and I don’t want to offend anyone since there’s nakedness and sexual stuff…lots of sexual stuff.  Seriously, don’t search it out if any of that stuff in a comical environment offends you.  And if you’re under 18 because that’s just naughty!  But I did screen capture one of their posts with a convenient block out of the most “offensive” visual.  Still, I’m hiding it below my read more, because I’m a coward 😉 Enjoy! To Those We’ve Lost, and are About to Loose…

Not whining, just taking stock of what’s gone on this year. I am ringing in the new year with a post, but no New Year’s Resolution. I’ll work to improve in general over the next year, but I swear if it all turns out to be more of the same as this year…Well, you get the idea.

Reasons Why The Truck Is Tilted…

The following was inspired by a conversation my husband and I had while making the commute from our home to his work.  We were behind a Fritolay truck that was uneven, suggesting that either something was broke on the truck, or it was carrying a really heavy load on one side.  This actually lasted a good fifteen twenty minutes.

Little Update For the Masses!

I’ve been away from my computer for a while.  There’s been so many things going on that’s been keeping me away, like spending time with my husband as he recovered from his surgery, cleaning my house, and hosting two more fellow estrogen-producing members of society at my home.

Don’t F****ing Jinx It!!!

Want to know irony?  Writing in your blog about how your playlist works, then the player craps out days later.  We’ve learned two lessons: 1. don’t jinx it!, 2. research the electronic gadget you want to purchase .  Just wanted to share that little bit.  I have a new mp3 player and am working on familiarizing myself with how to make it do the stuff I want it to.  I didn’t lose my music, the thing is just useless for playing music anymore.  Silver lining: I don’t worry about my toddler breaking it while taking pictures…take all the pictures you want and touch that screen!  Go ahead! Can’t make it work much less right?  That’s all I had to say though.  I want to get back to working on the player and playlists, maybe even play a little Star Wars: the Old Republic before I have to pick up my boy.

A Classic Blend

I’m doing another coffee log…wait what?  Yep, you read that right, I’m reviewing a coffee.  This isn’t from the Greenhouse, but it is something I found local.  The brand is called Douwe Egberts , apparently it’s a SaraLee company which is why I found these coffees at a SaraLee bread outlet.  I’m trying their Classic blend this time.  They come in small packages, probably just enough for a standard pot of coffee, I was able to brew three of my travel coffee cups with what they had in the package.  Anyway, on to the review! Research Makes It All Better!

Sunday was a day of writing.  At first it was all going well! I found a previous bit of work that I wanted to expand on and really work into the story and I was really making my hands fly over the keys, and then…Wait what is that stuff…You know, that stuff that people put on rags then put over the mouth and nose of another person to make them pass out….What is that stuff?  Thus started my day of researching stuff.  Would you like to join me on a short recall of what has had me in its grasp Sunday?  Join me and we will have a great laugh together as everyone else scratches their heads!
