Two Months of Writing Prompts: Day Eleven

So, as of the day that this was really typed up, I’ve been playing this game for over a month.  It’s been fun and I’ve had a blast running around with my friends and family.  On the date that I wrote the prompt in my notebook, it was just going through it’s open beta.  Anyone who’s interested can check it out Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn. Anyway, time for the prompt! Write about something that happened over the weekend as though it’s the top story on your local paper. Read more of this post

Procrastination, Thy Name Is Cici!

First off, I tried to write a post in under thirty minutes the other day.  You haven’t seen it because I failed.  “Failed?” you say, “But Cici, how?” Eh, well I didn’t get past the first line to be honest.  I couldn’t even tell you what I’d planned on the post being about.  I’ve slept since then, people!  Of course, since I’d only gotten to the first line before my husband got home, I deleted the post.  It wouldn’t have been relevant anymore being that the whole premise was to get something out in thirty minutes.  So, now you get this!  “So, what’s this?” you might ask.  Procrastination, that is what this is!  I should be transcribing and then adding to what I have written in one of my many stories, but instead, I’m here.  Posting.  And you get to read my eclectic ramblings.  Believe me, no one is more surprised that people want to read this stuff, than I am!  But then again, I really shouldn’t be too surprised.  I went back through the titles of my previous posts and even I said “What is that all about?” Read more of this post

Women Are Not Your Things!

I wasn’t going to do a blog on the Steubenville issue.  I’d posted enough links on my Facebook to really get across my feelings, but the issue has been going round and round in my head today, and I just can’t ignore my thoughts.  So, if you would just bear with me. Read more of this post

To Those We’ve Lost, and are About to Loose…

Not whining, just taking stock of what’s gone on this year. I am ringing in the new year with a post, but no New Year’s Resolution. I’ll work to improve in general over the next year, but I swear if it all turns out to be more of the same as this year…Well, you get the idea.

“Lies, all LIES!” – Frau Farbissina

Okie, as per my normal log in, I find that the spammers will find one post, and spam it relentlessly.  Haha!  My spam filter gets em’ all, and all I’ve got to do is click “empty spam” and blam! No spam!  Now, just because I make it so that I have to approve of comments doesn’t mean I’m going to be a hypocritical person and not allow a true comment, just because it’s a negative comment.  So far, no negative comments though.  Read more of this post

Times, They Are A-changin’: Kid’s Meal Issue

I’ve wondered what I want to do with this blog.  I’ve had a terrible time getting anything done because I’ve had so much to do.  I still want to use this to help my writing, however not so that untalented fakes can steal my work.  As far as talking about what goes on in my life, I figure that what I do may be uninteresting 90% of the time, so what does it matter if I share that boring bit of my life.  Most of the time I just want to exercise my fingers and my mind so that I can get the words out in a coherent form so that other’s can understand me for once.  Trust me, the brain-to-mouth process is just as confusing.  But other than writing about me, what do I want to do?  I think I want to make people aware of things however trivial they may seem.  Things that on their own may not seem like a big deal, but when you take a step back you realize, “hey, this isn’t good.”  I’ll start small this time though.  I want to tackle children sized fast food meals.

Stuff…Lot’s of Stuff!

Quite a few things crossing my mind: computers, kid’s meal toys, meeting Laurell K. Hamilton for the first time, reading & reviewing, gardening, games, sewing, and writing.  Wow, that’s actually quite a bit! No kidding, I got a lot on my plate! I’ve been working more at the greenhouse, though that doesn’t necessarily tie into my gardening.  It does keep me from doing the many tasks I’ve gotten myself into, not including my normal chores.  It’s been so long since my last real post.  I’ve been writing, but posting on my blog hasn’t made it up the list of things to accomplish before I pass out.  So, here I am, making the attempt  I’ll probably just cut this into bits and pieces, or not even touch on most of the things I really want to post about.

A Dream Come True but Not Yet Fulfilled!

Well, it’s summer.  I’ve been wanting to go see family, but that’s five hundred miles away.  My family just can’t make the drive every year!  We can make a shorter drive, and my husband said that we do need to so something vacationy.  So, I began to brainstorm.  I was thinking of places and things that we could do that was half way to family and friends in Kansas, so that someone could meet us “half-way” so to speak.

Well first and foremost on my mind was that my favorite authoress lives in St. Louis, which could be semi half-way, and I’m sure there’s things to do for the rest of the people  there.  I went onto her websight and saw that she’s not holding any book signings in her area, she’s going all across the country.  This all across the country book tour (You know, a REAL author’s book signing tour) takes her just three hours away from me and mine in just under three weeks!

You bet your cookies I mentioned it to my husband, with a little fangirl giggle.  I like to think that I’ve matured over the years, but the idea of meeting an author I’ve been reading for half my life now is just too much!  She has surpassed all other authors on my list.  When I see her I’m going to have to fight to hold back a squeal of glee!  My husband will want to be nowhere near me!  Just thinking about it makes my inner child do cartwheels, whooping and singing “I get to see Laurell! I get to see Laurell!”

Hell, I’m even planning my outfit as we speak!  And not just clothes!  I’m going to be trying out what different shades of makeup I’ll wear, what earrings, hair accessories, shoes, nylons.  I’m going to be thinking about what to do with my hair, and then I’ll have to make a silhouette of my best friend’s bust with “Insert Rachel here…” so that she can have a “spot” in the picture I’ll have taken of me with Laurell.  It may seem crazy, but I don’t give a  rat’s patootie!  That’s me, and I’m not going to be able to tone it down enough to be considered even a semblance of normal, so I won’t even try.  This will be my one, and maybe only time to meet her, and I’m not going to ruin it by not being me.

Oh! And you bet I’ll be reviewing her book! In fact, perhaps I’ll just start with the first and finish by the time I go to meet her! Hurrah! (Cici runs off to grab her copy of Guilty Pleasures!)

Well, I’ve got to go do the housewifey thing then play with nail polish! I get to see Laurell, I get to see Laurell, I get to see Laurell!

Bitter Seeds

Well, there you go.  I’ve given you some book reviews, and made sure all of the ones I’ve written here are on Amazon.  Strangely, the lower reviews don’t seem to show up.  I know that one won’t show because she’s certain I’m attacking her personally, but I can only speculate why the other doesn’t show up.  I’d like to say something to them, whether or not they actually read this… Read more of this post
